Saint Mary's Catholic Voluntary Academy

SEN and Local Offer

Arrangements for supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)

Saint Mary's is a fully inclusive mainstream Catholic school and we believe that every child is unique in the eyes of God and deserves an education which ensures that their full potential is achieved both personally, emotionally and academically. As a Catholic school, we have Christ at the centre of all that we do, and we treat each child as a unique individual (regardless of their gender, ethnicity, social background, religion, physical ability or educational needs).

Our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) is Mrs N Barry.

The document below contains a list of information websites, tips and resources to help you support your children with their additional needs, learning and self-esteem.

Local Offer

From September 2014, all local authorities published a ‘local offer’ setting out what support is available in the area to all children and young people from 0-25 years with SEN and/or a disability.  Information, advice and support for the Derbyshire area can be found at the link below.
